 Fit great, make more sense than disposable swimmies July 15, 2010

This diaper fits my 13 month old daughter great. It forms a tight fit that has as good a chance as the disposable "swim diapers" to catch a solid. I like the design and think this makes a lot more sense for the weekly or twice weekly summer swim. My daughter is more comfortable in this and it's far less bulky than the soggy "swim diapers".
We use disposable diapers normally.

I bought the turtles print for my son and it's very cute. He is 9 months old but he has a smaller waist so he's been wearing the medium for a few months now and there is still plenty of room for him to grow. If you have a bigger baby then I don't know how long these diapers will work for you.
He hasn't pooped in the diaper (yet) so I don't know how well it holds up for that. I imagine that, with any diaper, if the diaper fits properly it shouldn't be an issue. I alternate between cloth and disposable diapers so I don't have a problem washing a poopy diaper. Please keep in mind that these diapers are only meant to hold in poop and yes, your baby will pee in the pool despite wearing the diaper.
These are much better alternatives to disposable swim diapers. I am planning on buying a second diaper as a back up now that it's getting to be beach season.

We bought a size small when my son was 6 1/2 months old and weighed about 14 lbs. They fit great! Even now, he's 17 lbs and 9 months old!
I love the Velcro closure, the design (turtles), and the gussets are tight for keeping everything in but not too tight. We put these under his swim trunks. Easy to put on and take off.
One important note: they do not hold in pee. I found out the hard way when I had him on my lap while waiting for his swim lessons; warm pee ran down my legs. It does, however, keep in poo, which is what pools care about anyway (they have to shut down otherwise).
One thing you can do if you need to put these swim diapers on before you get to your swim destination, is add a doubler like this one but not this one Depend BOOST Inserts - Diaper Liners - Booster Pads - Doublers, Pack/20 Pads, we buy ours at the local big babies store (pack of 30 for $2.99). Then when you get to where you're going just pull it out. All though, I'll warn you, it's just as easy to put him in the swimmi when you get to the pool.

We took our 3-month old on his first vacation to the Dominican Republic and these were super. Fit very well. We didn't have any "major diaper action," so I'm not sure how they would perform in that case, but we were very happy with them.
