2 out of 5 stars Not what I expected based on other reviews   September 2, 2010

I've been using BabyKicks Organic One Size for a couple of months. Baby is 12 weeks & 17 lbs. We're on the largest snap fitting, and they're supposed to fit thru to 40 lbs??!
Pros: seems to wash well; no odor yet; very few leaks; insert can't shift around (on the con side, this means that it takes a little extra time working the insert in and making sure that it's not bunching up anywhere.)
Cons: material is pretty rough (a nubby terry weave used throughout); hemp is supposed to 'wear in' instead of 'wear out', but it hasn't softened up yet. One Size is supposed to last thru 40 lbs, but our 17 lb baby requires the largest settings. Leaves red marks on legs. Doesn't wick moisture away from skin at all, so he stays as wet as the diaper. Requires a cover. Without cover, gets immediately wet even with soaker insert. Don't know how one commenter said they go w/o covers! Also, pretty darned bulky, and we only snap to one size smaller for the vertical rise, if at all. Between the bulky diaper, the cover and a onesie, he looks like an Umpa Loompa in jodhpurs from the original Willy Wonka flick.
I purchased 12 and would continue to use, except they're getting too small for our 12 week old baby. And he's not huge, just a normal buddah belly; so I'm confused how they could claim the 40 lb limit.
I'm now trying others.
FuzziBunz all in ones are much softer, much thinner profile (no Umpa Loompa), no additional cover, and the microfleece wicks moisture away from skin so he barely feels damp. Also, he's not at the biggest waist setting on these yet, but almost.
Mommy's Touch I used for the first time today, and they leaked. But I think that's due to user error because I didn't snap as recommended. A bit like working through the Rubik's Cube. And I'm not sure what the snap's for on the insert, except to perhaps snap the insert to a shorter length for smaller diaper size. The fleece seemed to wick nicely though, and it looks like there's even more room to grow in the waist than the FuzziBunz. For both this one and FuzziBunz, I notice that the insert shifts a little, and you have to make sure it's lined up straight in the back.
Next I'm trying GroBaby AIO, and a Happy Heiny AIO (which is rumored to last longer for 'larger' babies). We'll see.

5 out of 5 stars Super Absorbant!   September 1, 2010

I got 2 of these diapers to try on my 3 mo old son. He is a heavy wetter, and these diapers with a hemp doubler in the pocket get him through a 12 hour night!!! They are just slightly damp on the front outer in the morning. Amazing. They are super soft, squishy and nice looking. They are a little hard to stuff the pocket, because they are so thin and stretchy, but that is a minor trouble for how well they perform.

5 out of 5 stars Very nice cloth diapers   July 27, 2010

These are my favorite cloth diapers. I bought them for my 4mo old. I have tried the hemp prefolds, Kissaluvs hemp and cotton fitted, and Fuzzibunz. These are not too bulky (although still bulky as most cloth diapers are), excellent in absorbency, and clean very well. The Fuzzibunz I have always leave a urine smell but these wash out nicely.

5 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS DIAPER!!!   November 25, 2009

Can't say enough good things about it! Been using this diaper for 3 months and I am still amazed at how great it fits and functions. I use this diaper on my 1yo & 2mo and it fits both of them like a glove. No leaks, no red marks, SUPER trim, and I've never seen a diaper absorb like this. We even go coverless during the day, and for overnights this diaper is a machine. Buy it, you will not be disappointed!
